About Steam Calculator

Steam Calculator is a free set of tools for PC gamers who want to understand their Steam library at a glance — its total value, how much storage it needs, and what their wishlist is worth. The site has been running since July 2025 and is maintained independently — no affiliation with Valve or Steam.

    Who runs the site

Steam Calculator is built and maintained by a small team of PC gamers and web engineers who got tired of guessing what a 500-game library is actually worth. We use the tools ourselves on our own Steam profiles before we ship a change, and every calculation method is based on Steam’s own public data — not affiliate pricing or third-party scrapes.

Got feedback, a bug report, or a feature you wish existed? The Contact page goes straight to the people who write the code.

    What you can do here

    • Library value calculator — estimate what your Steam games are worth and your cost per hour played.
    • Library size calculator — see how much disk space your installed and owned games require.
    • Wishlist calculator — total up your wishlist and track potential sale spend.
    • Blog — guides on Steam sales, saving money, and getting more from your library.

    How calculations work

Library value is computed by looking up each game you own through the public Steam Web API and the Steam storefront. We use the current store price where available and fall back to the most recent observed price for games that are temporarily delisted or region-locked. Cost per hour divides the price we found by your public playtime hours from Steam’s profile API. Library size uses Steam’s reported install footprint per app ID. Wishlist totals sum the current store price of every game on your wishlist.

All calculations use Steam’s public data for the profile you enter. No login, password, or Steam account connection is required, and we don’t store your profile. Your Steam profile must be set to public for lookups to work.

    Accuracy and limitations

Prices and figures are estimates based on current and historical store data, and may differ from regional pricing, bundles, promotions, or in-cart discounts. Free-to-play titles and bundles are counted at zero. Treat results as a helpful guide, not a formal appraisal — and never as a basis for selling or trading accounts, which violates Steam’s Subscriber Agreement.

    Editorial standards

Blog posts are reviewed by the team before publishing. Where we cite numbers — player counts, sale dates, badge mechanics — we link the source. We don’t accept paid placements, sponsored posts, or game key gifts in exchange for coverage.
